A scheme of caring for people enjoying the night-time economy in Haverhill is being put together by representatives of local churches.

PARISH COUNCIL: At the April meeting of Little Thurlow Parish Council a member of the police force stated that due to cutbacks they would not be able to attend all council meetings in the future. The councillors replied to this by saying it was important to have visits rather than written reports. In the future police will visit if there are issues to be dealt with.

CHURCH NEWS: On Sunday, May 1, there will be a family service at 10.45am followed by refreshments.

HISTORY SOCIETY: At a brief annual meeting, all officers and committee were re-elected for another year. The chairman is Dorothy Anderson, secretary is Gillian Cooper and treasurer is Pam Miller.

OVER 60s CLUB: At the last meeting, members enjoyed a fish and chips lunch followed by a game of bingo and a raffle.
